CHRIS PARRISH AND REGINA JAQUESS WIN THE Alizée CUP |
EUROLAC, FRANCE - While many of the eyes of the
world are watching the Tour de France, there
was also a "big purse" Pro Water Ski Event, the Alizée
Cup, this weekend in France, too!
Team GOODE skiers, Chris Parrish and Regina
Jaquess, both won the Alizée Cup Title.
Here is a report from Chris Parrish:
Guys, wow, what an amazing, amazing event ..
Where do I start ? The ladies slalom final
kicked things off with a good pace, I didn't
watch the first couple of skiers but I saw
Nicole, Whitney, Anais and Regina all run 38 but
nobody looked as tough and strong on her ski as
Regina did (GOODE 9900SL)!! Her 39 start to get
to three was awesome !
1.
Regina 2 1/2 @ 39
2. Nicole/ Anais 2 @ 39
4. Whitney 1 1/2 @ 39
The guys final started off with a bang
quickly , TGas (Team GOODE Skier, Thomas
Degasperi) was first off the dock and ran 39 and
got 1 at 41 but got his gates pulled, JB was
next and ran 1/2 @ 41 and Rossi was right after
and ran the same .. Sasha, Carlos, Fred all
missed 39 and Will Asher had a good start but
messed up pretty bad and couldn't recover and
missed 6 ball at 39.
I felt really good last night and really
felt dialed from my first pass through 39. I was
so pumped when I won, I just made sure I didn't
overturn one ball and put myself in a runoff...
Got the win !!
So let me back track a little bit and
tell you what all went on last night lol, when
we had the opening ceromonies, we had a stage
with lights and a laser show and fireworks, well
the fireworks were putting super high sparks
that we had to cover up and run through the
stage cause the ash was so bad , TGas got ash in
his eye and ended up scratching it and having to
see a doctor but he said it ended up being ok ..
So that was kinda a wild opening for the comp !!
So after I won the Nautique 200 pulls up
and Regina and I get in the boat and they tell
me to get on the nose of the boat and Regina
stand on the back of the boat as the boat slowly
goes down the lake , they hand Regina 2 flares
and light them , while Gilles (the lake owner)
lights mine and hands it to me and he had it
pointed at me and it fires and nails me right in
the forehead and burning my head and some hair
to go along with it!! I didn't even care though
and acted like it never hap.. I was too excited
that I won!!
Thanks Dave for getting me on the best
ski brand possible to have moments like these
that I will never forget, you have no idea how
much I appreciate it and how much it means to me
...
Cheers

2009 Overall
World Champion, Javier Julio from Argentina, has joined
Team GOODE!
Javier is an outstanding
Overall skier. 2009 was the year he finally achieved
his crowning
accomplishment of being World Overall Champion.
In
2009 Javier also won all
event titles and overall at the
LatinAmerican Championships and is the reigning
PanAmerican Overall and Slalom Champion.
Javier is
one of only 3 skiers to be on all three Elite Ranking
Lists, an extremely rare
accomplishment.
"We are
excited to have Javier on Team GOODE," said Dave
Goode. "Javier skis and trains at Cory Pickos's Ski
School. This is the same site that Regina Jaquess set
her pending Overall World Record," Goode continues.
"Javier joins Overall skiers Regina Jaquess and
Clementine Lucine," concludes Goode.
