It is not every weekend that you get to see or hear of World Record
performances!
This Labor Day weekend produced three such scores. Two of them came
from GOODE's newest Team member, Chris Parrish, and the other from
long time GOODE Team member, Regina Jaquess. Dawn and I traveled to
Covington, LA to sign a new sponsorship deal with Chris Parrish. It
was an added bonus for me to see, for the first time, a World Record
Run in person. And, I got to see it twice!
I want to personally congratulate Chris and Regina for their recent
accomplishments. They are two great people. I am proud to have them
associated with GOODE.
COVINGTON, LA - SKI RANCH - It was only hours after Chris
Parrish had signed a sponsorship agreement with GOODE Skis, that
he tied the Men's World Record that he set over 4 years ago, by
running 1-1/2 buoys at 43 off (9.75m).
"This lake skis so well!", said Chris Parrish about Claire and
David DiPol's Covington Ski Ranch lake. "It was the best set of my
life! My new GOODE Ski stayed with me every turn.", continues
Parrish. Talking about his new GOODE 9900SL, Parrish concludes,
"This GOODE Ski is on a different level!"
"It was an amazing weekend!", said Dave Goode , President and
Founder of GOODE Ski Technologies. "Saturday morning Chris joined
Team GOODE and hours later, from the boat, I watched him tie the
World Record!", continues Goode. "While sitting in the water,
after Chris ran a beautiful 39-1/2' off, he told the boat crew
that he had just received a phone call from Lyman Hardy, who told
him that Regina Jaquess had just tied the Women's World Record of
1 buoy @ 41' off (10.25m). I think this helped spur Chris on!",
continues GOODE. "I am excited for the water ski world to see what
Chris Parrish and GOODE can do together! Tying the World Record
twice was simply amazing! And, this was only the first weekend!",
concludes Goode.
Chris Parrish tied his own World Record twice this weekend by
skiing on a stock GOODE 9900SL 227 AMP ski.
REGINA JAQUESS TIES THE WORLD RECORD
TUSCALOOSA, AL - Regina Jaquess (USA) tied the Women's World
Record (pending) - 1 buoy @ 41' off/10.25m. Regina accomplished
this feat in the first round of a World Record Capable three-event
tournament last weekend at Lymanland USA .
Regina first tied the record held by Kristi Overton- Johnson
(USA) and Karina Nowlan (AUS) in July 2009. Kristi Overton-Johnson
originally set the Record on Sept. 14, 1996 while riding a GOODE
9100. Nowlan tied the record on Sept. 21, 2008 skiing on a GOODE
9800SL with PowerShell 4 Boots. Regina rode a GOODE 9900SL with
PowerShell 5 boots during her World Record run.
Regina has a long list of slalom wins, including the 2005 World
Championships (she was riding a GOODE 9600) and the 2008 Masters
(she was skiing on a GOODE 9800SL).
NEW POWERSHELL BOOT LINERS ANNOUNCED
OGDEN, UT - GOODE teamed-up with Intuition to design and build a
Deluxe Heat Moldable Liner specifically designed for the GOODE
PowerShell Boots and water skiing. They are made with ULTRALON
foam which provides for a lightweight/comfortable fit.
The liner has a tongue, instead of an overlap entry, to allow
your foot/ankle the necessary flexing and to also provide control
and support without the requirement for additional ankle
reinforcement. A built in "heel-pocket" helps to hold the heel
down, without the need to over-tighten the buckles.
The new Deluxe Heat Moldable Liners come pre-formed but can be
Heat Molded by a process that requires that the liner be heated up
for a few minutes until the ULTRALON foam is soft and malleable.
Once the liner is ready to be fit, it is put onto the foot and
placed into the boot so that it molds to your foot and the inside
of your boot for more comfort and better performance.
"I just love the new liners", said 34mph World Record Holder
Dave Miller. "They are the best liners that GOODE has ever made!"
The 2009 Diablo Shores Pro Am Waterski Event will be WebCasted on
Saturday and Sunday, September 12th & 13th. See the best pros in
the World ski.
There is also a new Legends Division and you can see your
favorite retired skiers from the past!! Andy Mapple, Bob & Kris
LaPoint , Lucky Lowe, and many others will be on the water in
Brentwood, California.
OGDEN, UT - World Record Holder and Current Season point leader,
Chris Parrish, has signed a sponsorship agreement with GOODE Skis.
In addition to the agreement of GOODE Skis becoming Parrish's
primary ski and equipment sponsor, GOODE has also become a lead
sponsor of the Chris Parrish Academy, in Daytona Beach, FL .
"After a ten year search to find a ski that could catapult me
beyond my current record and performance level it appears that I
finally have found the "Ski ", as well as a Company that is
devoted to our sport like no other!", said Chris Parrish. "Working
closely with Dave Goode for just a short while, I have already
seen the support he brings to the lake and to his athletes
everyday.", Parrish continues.
"I am proud and honored to join World Champion Thomas Degasperi,
Nick Parsons, Thomas Moore and World Record Holders; Regina
Jaquess, Karina Nowlan, Kristi Overton-Johnson, and so many more,
as the newest member of Team GOODE.", Parrish continues.
"Additionally, Dave and GOODE's support of my newly launched SKI
and SURF Academy, will help develop the next generation of skiers
reach their full potential. We will sell, train and teach all
levels of skiers. With GOODE products available in our proshop,
our skiers will enjoy the best of the best. To say I am excited
would be an understatement! I intend to use this partnership to
attain the level of consistency and improvement that will secure
my position as the World's #1 slalom skier for many years to
come!", concludes Parrish.
