I hope you had a nice winter season! It is great to have Sping
officially here!
Just yesterday, we put in our GOODE Ski Lake slalom course with
extra help from Mike and Nick Parsons. It was sure nice to ski around
the buoys close to home again!
2009 is going to be a another great water ski season. Despite the
present world ecomonic troubles, there are a record number of local
tournaments scheduled in 2009. Elite skiers have already competed in
the Moomba Master, earlier this month. They will next be competiting
at the Masters, in May, the World Championships in August and the
Diablo Pro-Am in September.
Please remember, GOODE now has a BLOG which will keep you
up-to-date with all of the happenings at GOODE. You can view it at

Here are some comments from Jerome Bocuse on the GOODE 9900SL WIDE
RIDE...
A few years back when I reduced speed from 36 MPH to 34MPH
my buoy count went slightly up but my skiing was not as enjoyable.
It was always a "stop and go" with the ski stalling at the buoy
as the rope got shorter.
Today skiing on the 9900SL WIDE RIDE is an
amazing feeling, the buoy count is up and the pleasure of skiing
is back again.
The ski is very predictable on both sides, carving the water,
turning on a dime without losing any momentum.
With a background as a snow ski racer and watching the ski
evolution on the snow, I truly believe that the new 9900SL Wide
Ride is the future!

Dave and Dawn Goode spent a couple days with Jerome snow skiing
in Courchevel, France this past month. Jerome is a very
accomplished snow and water skier. Jerome has a very precise
feeling on skis. Jerome has competed in several BIG DAWG events
and ran 1@41 off in the 2007 BIG DAWG Finals.

President/Founder
OGDEN, UTAH - Ever since deliveries began of the POWERSHELL 5,
skiers have been raving about their comfort, performance and new
buckling system.
"I just love the PowerShell 5 System.", said Canadian National
Champion, Dave Miller. "It really offers better performance and
the micro adjustable buckles let me get the fit perfect.", Miller
said.
The GOODE PowerShell 5 is the next generation of the
PowerShellTM System and is all new for 2009!
The PowerShell 5 features an internally reinforced lower front
boot, micro-adjustable aluminum "snow ski" style buckles, an
aluminum hinge system, non- skid plate and optional heel lifters
for front and back boots.
The internally reinforced lower front boots make the lower
portion of the front boot stiffer, which helps improve angle
behind the boat. The micro-adjustable aluminum "snow ski" style
buckles are feather-light and snap securely in place. All the
components on the PowerShell 5 will not rust.

It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of Shane
McConkey. Shane had a tragic accident while jumping in Italy on
Thursday, March 26th.
A member of the Red Bull Air Force and pioneer of the ski-BASE-ing
phenomenon, McConkey experienced problems in the air after
launching off a cliff with the expectation of deploying his
parachute canopy and then gliding down to the ground-as he had
done successfully some 700-plus times before.
"He did a double backflip off the jump and he has these
releasable bindings so they come off in the air and then he flies
off in his wing suit," filmmaker Scott Gaffney, a longtime close
friend of McConkey's, told ESPN Action Sports in an interview via
phone.
"But one ski did not come off. And when that happens the drag
on the skis causes you to flip over, so the skis go over your
head. So he was struggling with the one ski. Then he also got into
a bad spin. So he may have never even pulled his pilot chute. And
that's coming from JT Holmes, who Shane was with in Italy and who
reviewed the footage of the accident. So the combination of the
ski, the spin and the pilot chute, apparently caused the accident.
Because you can't throw the pilot chute like that; if you throw it
while you're upside down and it wraps around the ski, you're
done."
Shane appeared in a GOODE Ski Pole promotional video in 1999.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with Shane's family and
friends.", said Dave Goode.
