Ski & Wakeboard Tournament® next month at Callaway Gardens. If you
have never been to the Masters, I highly recommend a trip to Pine
Mountain, GA to see it firsthand. You will witness water skiing at its
best.

LAKELAND, FL - The American Water Ski Educational Foundation's
10-member Hall of Fame Selection Committee inducted Lucky Lowe,
Lake Alfred, FL, into the AWSEF Water Ski Hall of Fame. The 27th
annual induction ceremony took place on April 18, 2009 at the
Lakeland Center.
Lucky's long-list of accomplishments dates back to 1974, when
he won the nationals boys overall title. He was the 1991 men's
world slalom champion and he was a silver medalist in men's
jumping at the 1985 and 1989 Water Ski World Championships. He
also won the men's slalom and jumping titles at the 1989 Pan
American Water Ski Championships.
Lowe competed in 14 Masters, his first in 1978, and held the
course record of 191 feet from1985-1989. He was also a U.S. Water
Ski Team member from 1979 through 1985.
He has owned and operated the Lucky Lowe Ski School for the
past two decades.
"Lucky Lowe has done so much for our sport.", said Dave Goode.
"I am always impressed when I work with Lucky. He knows water
skiing and water skis inside and out!", Goode continues. "Lucky
knows how to put a smile on everyone's face that he meets!", Goode
concludes.
GOODE SAYS GOODBYE TO APRIL
After many years of being sponsored by GOODE, April Coble-Eller
has switch brands of skis.
"We will miss April on Team GOODE in 2009!", said Dave Goode.
"April was a team leader and was always a top finisher. I remember
watching her in 2005 and 2007 become the top seed in the World
Championships", Goode continues. "She finished 2nd to Regina
Jaquess at last year's Masters. April and her whole family are
really great people and I look forward to seeing them at the
Masters. I will still be cheering her on!", Goode concludes.
GOODE wants to thank April for the great years together and to
wish her continued success!
JUNIOR SKIER FROM GREECE IS RANKED #1 IN EUROPE
Achilleas Patounis is a 15 year old skier from Greece and is
ranked #1 in Dolphin Boys, in Europe, with 2@11.25. Achilleas has
always skied with GOODE Skis and helps promote GOODE in Greece,
according to his coach, Dimitri Kourounis.

talks about the company he founded in 1975, his early inventions,

PINE MOUNTIAN, GA - The 50th Masters Water Ski & Wakeboard
Tournament® will be held May 22-24, 2009. The Masters is known
throughout the world as the most prestigious watersports
tournament. The event began in 1959 at Callaway Gardens and is
held annually during the Memorial Day weekend.
The Robin Lake site at Callaway, built specifically for the
Masters, boasts an expansive pavilion with covered stadium
seating, judges' tower and media area. The action can be seen
clearly from the beach and picnic areas. The immaculately
maintained gardens, lakes, resort and attractions at Callaway
provide a tournament venue like no other in the world.
An invitation to compete in the Masters is universally
considered an honor and an acknowledgement of achievement for
reaching the pinnacle in a given watersports discipline - only the
world's most elite athletes compete at the Masters! This
tournament is IWSF/USA Water Ski and WWA sanctioned. Prize monies,
trophies, rings and special event awards total well over $110,000.
The 17th Junior Masters Tournament features the world's finest
junior waterskiing and wakeboarding athletes. In lieu of prize
monies, junior competitors receive trophies.
Callaway's Robin Lake is nestled in a serene and beautiful
atmosphere. Spectators are treated to thrilling competition while
lounging in a remarkable natural setting. This event attracts
thousands of spectators annually and enjoys media coverage in the
local and metropolitan Atlanta areas prior to and during the
tournament, followed by worldwide print coverage for several
months.
