I hope you have had a great summer and are ready for
this winter's adventures in the snow!
Dawn and I just returned from Vail, CO where we watched the Birds
of Prey World Cup Downhill. It is always so impressive and
inspirational to watch the world's best alpine skiers competing in
such difficult conditions.
Wishing you a great Holiday Season and a wonderful winter ski
season!
UTAH - Rob Holmes was captured beautifully in this photograph
enjoying his pair of GOODE STR8. Rob is a very enthusiastic and
dynamic powder skier from the Ogden area that loves to ski the
back country and the cliff areas in the mountains nearby.
Dan Campbell-Lloyd, a photographer/Cinematographer from Park
City, UT, entered this photo into the Ski Utah Fat Flakes Pro
Photo Competition where it won First Prize!
BIG MOUNTAIN, POWDER, HELICOPTER, CAT SKIING - The STR8TM
has ZERO sidecut. It skis great in deep powder and turns better on
harder snow than do reverse sidecut skis. The STR8TM
features a progressive tip splay which keeps your tips up and
helps prevent going over the "handlebars".
Greg Hill has produced a nice little video that is fun to watch
and displays the beauty of back country skiing on GOODE skis in
British Columbia, Canada.
Click on the You Tube photo below to see the video for
yourself. The GOODE coffee mugs in the video are available if you
are interested, simply call our sales reps and ask for details.

VAIL, CO - Norway's Aksel Lund Svindal won his second World Cup
race in as many days, taking more revenge on the course upon which
he was injured in 2007 with a Super-G win Saturday.
Svindal, who won a downhill here on Friday, surged into the
overall World Cup lead with his 11th World Cup victory in 1:13.05,
0.45 seconds ahead of Hermann Maier with fellow Austrian Michael
Walchhofer third in 1:13.63.
The 25-year-old Norwegian was severely injured on the same
mountain last year during a downhill training run while he was
leading the standings. Battling back through months of
rehabilitation, Svindal simply hoped to be in the running this
week.
"To be competitive with the best guys in the world, that was my
goal, and hopefully to be impressive," Svindal said. "The first
step is to be competitive and I definitely achieved that this
week. I can't do anything better than to win, can I?" he said.
Svindal began the day sharing the overall World Cup lead with
Swiss rival Daniel Albrecht on 185 points but seized sole
possession of the lead by adding another 100 to his total. Maier
moved into second overall on 216 points.
Beaver Creek's Birds of Prey racecourse was built during the
summer of 1997 in preparation for the 1999 World Alpine Ski
Championships.
The Birds of Prey course at Beaver Creek is the only World Cup
location in the USA for the men's speed events and we highly
recommend attending if you are ever in the area in early December.
