It was a great weekend of skiing at the season's final stop of the
MasterCraft Pro Tour at Diablo Shores in Brentwood, CA. Dawn and I
watched, along with thousands of other spectators and WebCast viewers,
as we all witnessed a World Record performance from Karina Nowlan as
she ran 1 buoy at 41' off.
This was my first time watching a World Record in person and it
will be a moment in time that I will always remember.
Thank you for choosing GOODE!

BRENTWOOD, CA - Karina Nowlan (AUS) ran 1 buoy at 41' off to tie
the Women's World Record. If this pending World Record is approved
by the IWSF, Karina Nowlan will co-hold the record with Kristi
Overton-Johnson (USA), who set the record 11 years ago.
"I am speechless. I don't know what to say.", said a stunned
Karina Nowlan. "I have dreamt of holding the World Record for so
many years. And now, to finally have done it, I have no words to
express it.", Karina continues. "It has just been an amazing
season. It all started this year with my first tour win, and then
to tie the World Record here, it is just amazing. I want to thank
Dana Reed for all of his efforts to bring the tour back. Thank
you, Dana, thank you. Without you, none of this could have
happened.", Karina concludes.
Karina has been knocking on the World Record door for a while.
She ran 5@39-1/2' at the last Pro Tour stop in Charleston, SC.
Then she ran 5 @ 39-1/2' again here in qualifying.
The next round, Karina ran a full pass at 39-1/2' off only to ski
inside of the 1 ball at 41' off. Then, in her next head-to-head,
Karina did something that no woman has ever done, she ran 39-1/2'
for a second time. This time, she skied a full 1 buoy at 41' off,
tying the current World Record.
"Karina has a very unique technique and a gutsy competitive
attitude.", said Dave Goode. "I have watched Karina improve every
tour stop of her rookie year in 2008. To let you know how great
she is skiing, no Master Men beat her score this weekend!",
concludes Goode.
Karina rode her GOODE 9800SL and PowerShell Boots in the World
Record performance. Eleven (11) years ago, Kristi Overton- Johnson
rode a GOODE 9100 while setting her World Record.
BRENTWOOD, CA - GOODE Skis swept the women's podium this past
weekend at the 7th and final stop of the 2008 MasterCraft Pro
Tour. GOODE Skis also swept the podium at the 6th tour stop at
Charleston, SC. Karina Nowlan won this weekend's event by beating
April Coble-Eller in the head-to- head finals. Along her way to
victory, Karina tied the Women's World Record by running 1 buoy @
41' off. Former World Slalom Champion, Regina Jaquess, finished
3rd and Karen Truelove placed 4th.
"The depth of women's slalom skiing is truly amazing!", said
Dave Goode. "Just a few years ago it was great to see them running
38' off and now they are running 39-1/2' off! I am happy to see
GOODE Skis performing so well for them."
Karina Nowlan was riding a GOODE 9800SL with PowerShell boots,
April Coble-Eller skied on a GOODE 9900SL Maika'i, Regina Jaquess
was on a GOODE 9900SL with a PowerPlate and Karen Truelove was on
a GOODE 9800SL with a PowerPlate.
The GOODE PowerVest System is quickly gaining popularity. Skiers
are understanding how it can be used to reduce fatigue and
increase performance.
The GOODE PowerVest System features PowerGrip Gloves,
Power-Straps, a Load Distribution Panel (which is attached to the
Power Waist-Belt) and a Vest to hold everything together and
provide floatation.
The PowerVest System reduces load to your back in a similar
fashion to that of a hiking backpack . You want to carry the load
(or weight) on your hips, not your upper body and back.
By reducing excessive load forces to your upper body and back,
the PowerVest reduces muscle fatigue, reduces the repetitive
compressive load on your back and increases your strength and
endurance.
"The PowerVest also allows you to ski stronger.", said Dave
Goode. "I have found that I can ski a more powerful technique
which allows me to develop more angle and more cross-course speed,
allowing me to arrive earlier at the next buoy.", continues Goode.
"The GOODE PowerVest System has helped me run more 38' offs in
tournaments so far this year than in any other year of my skiing
career.", Goode concludes.
Let the GOODE PowerVest System help take your skiing to the
next level!
