ERIC SULLIVAN WINS THE 24 HOURS OF SUNLIGHT |
 |
Eric Sullivan, from Gunnison, CO, won the Men's Solo
division of the grueling third annual 24 Hours of
Sunlight Randonee Race last weekend. In doing so, Eric
set a new World Record of 34 laps on the 1-mile,
1,898-foot course. This equates to 51,068 total feet!
The race was held at the Sunlight Ski Area near Glenwood
Springs, CO.
Eric switched to GOODE Skis this year after
watching Greg Hill set the World Record in 2006 and then
again watching Greg defend his title last year. Eric
finished 2nd to Greg Hill in 2007 and wanted the same
lightweight advantage that GOODE Skis provide
Greg.
"Eric is an awesome athlete and a great competitor!
It is such an amazing human feat! I am happy that Eric
chooses to race on GOODE Skis. Because of Eric's
efforts, GOODE Skis have now won every 24 Hours
of Sunlight Race! ", said Dave Goode.
In May, Eric leaves for Greenland, along with a
Canadian skier, to attempt the fastest ski crossing of
the Greenland Ice Cap. They have decided that the light
weight GOODE Randonee Ski will be ideal for that
adventure.

CLOSE SHAVE IN RAWALPINDI, PAKISTAN |

Bill Stevenson's video documents his Karakoram/Himalayas
expedition adventure on his GOODE Skis.
Last year, Bill wrote a letter to Dave Goode. "At
the end of August we are headed to Tibet to ski
Shishapangma. At 26,289 feet it's one of only 14 peaks
in the world over 8,000 meters. This will be a major ski
mountaineering accomplishment. On our last ski trip I
learned just how important weight is on these big peaks.
In October 2005 we climbed to 26,500 feet on a peak
called Cho Oyu which is on the Nepal/Tibet border. My
two friends skied from that height while I shot photos.
At that altitude every ounce counts and I left my
"too-heavy skis" behind on summit day to make sure I
made it to the top. Unfortunately, we turned around only
300 feet from the top (an hour left of climbing at
26,000 feet) as the temperature was minus 30 and
frostbite was becoming a real possibility. On this, my
fourth Himalayan expedition, I want to make sure my gear
isn't holding me back. That's why I want to use Goode
skis. At the recent Outdoor Retailer demo day I tried a
pair of the BC 82s and was impressed with the
performance and the weight. For what I'm doing this ski
is the best option."
GOODE Skis is impressed with Bill's
accomplishments and is a proud sponsor of his
adventures!

BRAD AND SHAWN TEST THE GOODE MONSTRO 120 |
 |
|
To my friends,
Here is a YouTube video of Shawn McPherron and I
product testing the new GOODE Monstro 120 carbon
torsion box ski. We ran into Dave Goode, owner of
GOODE Skis, a few weeks ago at Snowbasin. He set us
up with these great, new reverse side cut skis that are
manufactured right here in Ogden. This video was shot in
HD format and produced by my friend, Edmond Stevens, who
has worked thirty years in the TV and Movie industry as
a screen writer, director and videographer. He now owns
a video production firm that specializes in high-end
video production of action sports product development.
While digitizing, some of the dissolves and transitions
were lost, but you will get the idea that these skis are
different than anything on the market and how well they
perform.
Enjoy this three minute video.

NASTAR NATIONAL PARTICIPANTS SELECTED |
 |
|
Invitations to the NASTAR National Finals have gone out
to all qualified racers. The National Championship is
the ultimate reward for anyone who races Nature Valley
NASTAR!
Who are North America's fastest recreational skiers
and snowboarders? That question will once again be
answered during the Nature Valley NASTAR National
Championships in Steamboat Springs, CO March
13-16, 2008.
Racers qualify by earning a top-three ranking in
their age division at any one of the 120 Nature Valley
NASTAR ski resorts throughout North America. The
Championships will attract more than 1,400 racers for
the multi-day event. The Nationals will feature US Ski
Team Pacesetters, great live music, a festival village,
parties, raffles, product demonstrations and exhibits,
as well as the crowning of all the new National
Champions.
GOODE will be hosting the "GOODE SKI
CHALLENGE", an event that will allow racers to see how
fast GOODE Skis are compared to their current
brand. Winners of the Challenge will be randomly awarded
a pair of GOODE Skis.
GOODE Ski Technologies is proud to be the "OFFICIAL
SKI and SKI POLE" of NASTAR.
