Last week, Dawn and I flew to Orlando, FL with #6 on
the World Ranking List, Nick Parsons (Bountiful, UT)
to pick up World Champion, Thomas Degasperi (Italy),
Todd Ristorcelli (Editor of WATERSKI Magazine) and
renowned photographer Bill Doster. We spent an
adventurous week in the Tropics of Costa Rica
photographing and video taping Nick and Thomas
waterskiing.
Costa Rica offers such great adventure. We had
calm winds, some rain, some sun and most importantly
- lots of fun! Water Ski Costa Rica's host, Jim
Kilsdonk, did a terrific job coordinating all of the
details. We water skied every day, zip-lined through
the rain forest, rode horses, saw monkeys hanging
from trees, watched flocks of parrots fly over head,
and even looked a giant iguana in the eye!
Water Ski Costa Rica is located 60 miles north of
San Jose, Costa Rica. Daily direct flights are
available on American, Continental and Delta from
several U.S. cities.

Dawn and I briefly met Arturo for the first time at
the 2007 World Championships which were held in Linz,
Austria last September. Last month we had a better
opportunity to get to know Arturo and his family
when we visited him at his AQA Training center in
Miami, FL.
Arturo has a saying "passionate about waterski".
Dawn and I found him to be passionate about life! He
is a great person, a great skier and really runs a
great training center.
Arturo's website states, "If you are looking for
the best place to practice year round, come and ski
with us at AQA Training Center at The Greater Miami
Ski Club."
Arturo recently switched to the GOODE 9800SL and
PowerShell Boots. In a recent tournament Arturo
states, "I ran 1 at 41 off. I have only tried 39 off
about 5 times before because I had been focusing on
my 38 and it felt great!"
