Hello from Linz, Austria, site of the 2007 World
Championships (and home of the Linzer Tort)! Dawn and I sat
on the shores of the lake and watched the World's best
skiers compete for the coveted title of "World Champion".
We witnessed Thomas Degasperi not only win, but also tie
the World Championship Slalom Record, 3@10.25 (3@41' off)!
I am dedicating this newsletter to exclusive coverage of
the 2007 World Championships.
LINZ, AUT - GOODE Skis again won Gold and Silver
Medals in this year's Mens Slalom at the 2007 World
Championships. This repeats the feat of 2003 when
GOODE also took 1st and 2nd place in Mens Slalom at
the 2003 World Championships. GOODE Carbon Fiber
Composite Skis are the World's Lightest Skis.
"I am very proud to be producing some of the
finest water skis built anywhere in the world.",
said Dave Goode. "The World Championships are the
ultimate proving grounds and it was great to see
GOODE on top again!", Goode said.
Regina Jaquess won the Gold Medal in the 2005
Womens Slalom event. Jeff Rodgers won the Gold and
Will Asher the Silver in 2003 World Championships.
POWERSHELL BOOTS DOMINATE PODIUM AT WORLDS
More and more skiers are winning on the GOODE
PowerShell hardboot system. This year's World
Championship podium winners were no exception.
PowerShells were on the podium for 1st and 3rd
place Mens Slalom and for 1st and 3rd place Womens
Slalom events.
"I knew that Thomas Degasperi and Chris Rossi
were skiing on GOODE PowerShell boots, but I was
suprised to see 1st place Nicole Arthur (GRB) and
3rd place Karina Nowlan (AUS) using them, too.",
said Dave Goode. "Both women looked great on the
water and defeated skiers like Karen Truelove and
Natalie Hamrick-Hart who ski on traditional rubber
boots!', Goode continues. "7 of the top 10 Mens
Slalom skiers in the World are using GOODE
PowerShell boots and now we have the top women using
them too. At the World Championships, the PowerShell
won both the Mens and Womens titles and filled 4 of
the 6 podium spots.", Goode concludes.
GOODE PowerShell boots are patented by GOODE and
give skiers a performance advantage.
"I had the pleasure of watching Patrice Martin and
Bob LaPoint get inducted into the International
Water Ski Federation Hall Of Fame while attending
the World Championships in Austria. Both of these
amazing athletes were sponsored by GOODE when GOODE
Skis were first introduced to the world. It was very
exciting to see these two men give heart wrenching
acceptance speeches in front of a large crowd of
appreciative waterski enthusiasts."' said Dave
Goode.
Patrice Martin began trick skiing and winning
Open events at the age of 11 years old. Patrice
evolved into the finest Overall skier of his time.
In 27 years of International competition, Patrice
was 34 times European Champion, 17 times number one
in the World Ranking list in Tricks and Overall, and
set six World Tricks records from 1978 to 1996. At
the World Championships Patrice garnered 15 medals,
including an unprecedented six consecutive Gold
medals as Overall Champion from 1989 to 1999.
Bob LaPoint was a consisent champion in the
Slalom event through his 35 year career. Bob's
defining achievenment was winning five World Slalom
titles from 1977 to 1987. Bob was also a five-time
US Open and US Masters Champion and set the World
Record five times.
