There is more great waterskiing news from all parts of
the World! Yesterday I was dialing in to the WebCast from
the Princes Pro-Am tournament in England when I saw Nick
Parsons standing on the podium with a BIG trophy in hand!
Moments later, I received a phone call from Chad Scott,
telling me that he had just won the Bayou Big Dawg event!
And all of this comes just a week after the conclusion of
the 65th GOODE Water Ski National Championships.
More news will be coming from Linz, Austria later this
week when the World Championships get underway.
COVINGTON, LA - Hometown favorite Chad Scott won the
2007 Bayou Big Dawg on Sunday, August 26th at The
Ski Ranch. The tournament, featuring Mens 3 and Mens
4 slalom skiers (age 35 and over - competing at 34
mph) had a total cash-prize purse of $5,500 at
stake.
Scott, the 5th-seeded skier for the 16-skier
head-to- head finals, defeated 12th-seeded Chad
Baker, fourth- seeded Ward McLain and top-seeded
Scott Tynan before out-dueling sixth-seeded Jeff
Danos in the Championship round.
The 38-off pass was run 39 times during the
two-day tournament. The 39-1/2-off pass was run
seven times among five skiers at this event.
TODD KUYKENDALL WINS MENS 3 SLALOM
Todd Kuykendall, from Oklahoma, won the highly
competitive Mens 3 Slalom event on the final day of
the 65th GOODE Water Ski National Championships in
Bakersfield, CA. Todd ran 3 buoys @ 39-1/2' off .
An excited Todd said: "I switched to my Goode
9800 about five weeks ago. In the following two
weeks of practice, I began to run a number of 39's;
I even ran 2 and 3 buoys @ 41. So, I knew the real
test would come in a tournament. In my next two
tournaments I ran 1 @ 41. Now God has blessed me
with a Mens 3 National Title. Thank you Dave for
helping Dreams Come True!"
