Dear Skier,
Congratulations to Dr. Mike Morgan for his victory in the Big Dawg
Championships yesterday. Dr. Morgan certainly stands alone as not only a
great skier, but as a great person, too!
I am impressed by the depth of the talent among the best 34mph skiers
in the world. 39-1/2' offs were being run like they were 35' offs!
I would like to thank Correct Craft for their title sponsorship role
in this great event. GOODE was proud to be a supporting sponsor of the
entire Big Dawg Series.
Thank you for choosing GOODE!

BIG DAWG SERIES CHAMPIONSHIPS |
 |
The Ski Nautique Big Dawg Slalom Championship culminated the
inaugural Ski Nautique Big Dawg Slalom Series, which pitted Men's 34
mph slalom skiers - age 35 and over - in thrilling head-to-head
match ups. The series consisted of four qualifying stops, each with
a $5,000 purse.
Jeff Danos of Mandeville, LA, won the first stop of the series on
June 25 at the Bayou Big Dawg in Covington, LA; Lucky Lowe of Lake
Alfred, FL, won the second stop on July 16 at Bellalago Lake in
Leavittsburg, OH; Canada's David Miller won the third stop of the
series on Aug. 27 at Diablo Shores in Brentwood, CA; and Scott Tynan
won the fourth and final qualifying stop on Sept. 10 at Skyview Lake
in Harmony, NC. Anyone finishing in the top eight at the qualifiers
received an automatic berth to the Championship. The first 50
percent of openings were filled based on best single scores, and the
second 50 percent were filled based on best cumulative scores.
The series was open to skiers age 35 or older who had not placed
among the top 10 in a professional tournament in the last three
years, or any skier over the age of 50. Each tournament in the
series included two rounds of record-capability action, followed by
a bracketed 16-skier head-to-head final.
The Big Dawg slalom tournaments have become popular among
participants over the past two years because the skiers are not
fragmented into divisions, and the winners are declared after a
thrilling head-to-head format. At the regional and national
championships, titles are awarded to the winners in Mens 3, Mens 4,
Mens 5 and Masters 55K, the top divisions for 34 mph slalom
athletes. At the Big Dawg events, there is only one division, and
ultimately, one Big Dawg.
