GOODE
SKIERS DOMINATE U.S. WATER SKI NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Despite an abundance of rainfall, the "2002
GOODE Water Ski National Championships" held in Texas August
13-17 were a success. In fact, for the many athletes competing on
GOODE water skis it was great- 73% of all women divisional champions rode a
GOODE ski and 60% of all men divisional champions rode a
GOODE ski . According to USA Water Ski, nearly 900 competitors
registered for the national championships, making it the world’s
largest water ski tournament. The event took place at the Lago Santa
Fe Ski Club outside of Houston. This is the third year GOODE has
served as title sponsor for the U.S. Nationals. Here are some results:

TEAM GOODE
PERFORMS WELL AT US OPEN

Members of TEAM GOODE skied well at the "US
Open" held August 18 in Lago Santa Fe, Texas. The event,
considered to be the most prestigious professional tournament in the
world, took place under near-perfect conditions. Texan Michelle
Simpson (GOODE 9400) was third in Women’s Slalom with an impressive
performance of ½ at 39 ½ feet off. In Men’s Slalom three of the
top five skiers were members of TEAM GOODE:

Mike Morgan 3rd 4 at 39 ½ feet off
GOODE 9500
Jeff Rodgers 4th 3 ½ at 39 ½
feet off GOODE 9400
Chris Rossi 5th 1 ½ at 39 ½ feet

OPPENLANDER SETS PENDING NATIONAL COLLEGIATE
SLALOM RECORD ON GOODE SKI
Rollins College sophomore and Michigan native Ty
Oppenlander recently set a pending National Collegiate Water Ski
Association (NCWSA) Men’s slalom record. He
skied 2 ¼ buoys at 41 feet off. The collegiate
tournament was held at McCormick’s Ski School in Florida. Ty is a
member of TEAM GOODE. Pending approval by the NCWSA board, Oppenlander’s
score breaks the current record of 2 at 41 feet off co-held by Jamie
Beauchesne and Chris Parrish. Rollins College took top honors at the
Southern Region’s first tournament of the season, topping Florida
Southern by nearly 200 points. (Source: USA Water Ski)
NEW GOODE
9500 DUBBED "BREAKTHROUGH
SKI"

While the newest world-class, carbon
composite slalom ski- the GOODE 9500 has only been in production since
early August, it is already creating quite a stir. First some members
of the test team claimed it was a "breakthrough ski", now
many customers are in agreement. Pro skier Mike Morgan jumped on a
9500 just days before the US Open, and earned third place.
Explains Rick Door,
"The 9500 improved my personal best by 1 ½ buoys right out of
the box. And I set my PB almost 2 years ago. I haven’t changed my
skiing. It wasn’t me, it’s the ski."

Here’s some more information on our latest
model:
- What is the difference between the GOODE 9400
and the new GOODE 9500?
The 9500 has the same aerospace grade carbon and
core as the 9400, but has a different flex/torsion ratio. The
difference is in the ski’s lay-up.
- In terms of performance, what might a skier
expect with the new flex/torsion ratio?
The new 9500 (9534 & 9536) will turn with
much less effort. The turning characteristics of this model have been
greatly enhanced, while still retaining the performance attributes of
all GOODE water skis:
- Great Acceleration/Quickness
- Great Deceleration
- Better Angle Behind the Boat
- World’s Lightest Ski- Quicker from Edge
to Edge
- Ski Wide Around Ball/Buoy
- When was the new GOODE 9500 introduced?
The 9500 was introduced at the "2002 GOODE
Water Ski National Championships" near Houston, Texas- August
13-17th.
- What is the price of the GOODE 9500?
A blank 9500 is $890.00. This price includes the
precision adjustable fin box, 5 hole standard fin and wing. We are
still offering the $25.00 demo/trial program. Call 1-888-464-6633 for

Polish Jr. and Senior Champions
Dear Mr Goode,
I would like to inform you that this weekend Jan
Presz has taken the first place and a title of Polish National Junior
Champion 2002 in slalom using 9436 goode ski. Thus in this year
it was second title in slalom - first was taken by Jacek Markowski -
Polish National Senior Champion 2002 in slalom. Both skiers
were equipped by me; and switched from HO and Connelly skis to
Goode 9436. I think it was a good introduction in polish "waterskiing
world".
Best regards,
Wojciech Presz
